Katie Greyhound

Katie was brought into Debbie’s life in October, 1997— about the same time in which Debbie found Yoga. A retired racer from the tracks of New Hampshire, she moved quickly up the ranks but her career was cut short due to a broken foot. A spunky girl full of personality, Katie is not your typical greyhound—she’s very talkative and purrs when you scratch behind her ears.

She had been at the rescue for quite a while; apparently, she was a bit more "hyper" than the average Hound and so it was difficult to find the right home for her. But she and I knew immediately that we'd make a great pair.

A social girl, she loves to see and be seen, whether it's walking down the street, in downtown Burlington, or at her favorite pet food store. She also loves to cause trouble (or at least, she always seems to get herself into trouble!), which has landed us in the vet's office more times than we care to count.

Her favorite Yoga pose: Adhomukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog Pose). Yes, that's her in the upper left-hand corner of the page, posing for the Down Dog logo.
