Ellie Hound

Ellie came into our lives in October of 1999. She was retired early, never having made it past her maiden race. Adopted once before, she was essentially abandoned six months later and had been in foster care with a friend of mine until Katie and I decided to take her home.

A sweet and silly Hound, she is very shy at first—but full of spunk and personality once she feels comfortable around you.
She loves to bark and play—and is a great sprinter. She also loves to give "Houndie-hugs" and lick your nose if you get too close.

Her favorite Yoga pose is Urdhvamuka Svasana (Upward Facing Dog Pose), with Balasana (Child's Pose) as a close second. However, she is a bit camera-shy when it comes to her Yoga practice.

Right now, Ellie is battling osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer. Read all about Ellie’s trials and tribulations here.

Debbie also created a booklet to help others deal with their dogs’ cancer diagnoses; you can learn more about this project here.
